UMBC Closure on Wednesday, November 24, 2021
Dear UMBC Community,
We are pleased to announce that the University will be closed on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, in order to extend the Thanksgiving break.
Thanksgiving is a time when we reflect on the people and experiences that are meaningful to us. The challenges we all continue to face—and the dedication and creativity our community members have shown in the face of those challenges—make us more grateful than ever to be part of this inspiring community. Thank you for all you do for UMBC.
The additional holiday applies as well to UMBC programs and offices at the Universities at Shady Grove. The day will be designated as a holiday on time sheets. Employees required to work on November 24 will have twelve months to use the holiday.
We wish you and yours a restful and safe holiday.
President Freeman Hrabowski and Provost Philip Rous
