COVID-19 Health & Safety
- UMBC’s Public Health Dashboard was updated with new data on January 28. There were 11 new positive on-campus cases during this reporting period.
- If you are approved to be on campus this semester, you should have received an email with your new COVID-19 testing group designation. Please review this information carefully and follow the process outlined in the email for questions or to request a group designation change.
COVID-19 Vaccine
- Please review this campus update on the COVID-19 vaccine and eligibility for higher education professionals. More information can also be found on our Vaccine Information page.
- We encourage all community members to sign up for the vaccine registry created by their local county health department. Any UMBC employee may also register with the Baltimore County Health Department, even if they do not live in Baltimore County.
Health, Wellness & Support
- The Counseling Center is offering the “You've Got This” group is a four-week resilience-building program based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy that will help students develop the tools that they need to cope with challenges in day-to-day life. Topics include mindfulness, coping with difficult thoughts, enhancing emotional intelligence, and increasing interpersonal effectiveness. The program begins on February 5 at 11 a.m.; learn more here.

UMBC Spring 2021 Virtual Career & Internship Fair
- Students, be sure to register for the UMBC Spring Virtual Career & Internship Fair on February 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This is your chance to connect with more than 70 employers recruiting for intern and full-time positions. This event is just like an in-person career fair, but online! Position yourself for a successful fair experience and give employers the opportunity to review your credentials prior to the fair! Families First Coronavirus Relief Act Leave Provisions Extended
- Faculty and staff: Please review this message regarding the extension of Families First Coronavirus Relief Act leave provisions, through June 30, 2021. The FFCRA provides certain employees with paid leave for specific reasons related to COVID-19.
