Update on Leadership Searches

Dear UMBC Community, 

I am pleased to update you on important steps forward in our national searches for two key university leadership roles. With my thanks to all who have agreed to serve, I write today to share the membership of the committees for the searches for our next provost and senior vice president for academic affairs and our next vice president of student affairs. Anupam Joshi, Professor and Chair of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, will chair the provost search committee, and Katharine Cole, Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Academic Affairs, will chair the student affairs vice president search committee. The full membership of each committee is listed below.

These roles are critically important, and I know this news has been eagerly anticipated. There will be opportunities for the community to participate broadly in providing input to the committees for both searches as they begin their work with our external search consultant, Isaacson, Miller. You will hear more about those opportunities for input in the coming weeks. I value the diverse perspectives among the UMBC community and look forward to your continued engagement.
