October 25 Deadline for Nominations for Staff Awards
Dear colleagues,
We are inspired by the talented and dedicated staff members at UMBC who work each day in support of the university's mission. We are writing now to encourage you to consider nominating colleagues whose efforts or achievements have been particularly significant for one of these prestigious awards:
- UMBC Presidential Distinguished Staff Awards
- Board of Regents USM Staff Awards
- Jakubik Family Endowment Staff Award
- Karen L. Wensch Endowment Award for Outstanding Non-Exempt Staff
Descriptions of the four different kinds of awards and the eligibility requirements for each (including a new Board of Regents award for Excellence in Advancing Inclusion, Multiculturalism, and Social Justice), along with a nomination form, can be found at provost.umbc.edu/staffawards/.
The nomination process involves submitting a nomination letter, completing a brief nomination form, and providing the nominee’s resume or job history.
Nominations should be forwarded to the attention of the Staff Awards Committee, Office of the Provost, by October 25, 2017.
We look forward to engaging the UMBC community in a nomination process designed to highlight outstanding contributions made by exempt and non-exempt staff in their work to advance UMBC’s mission.
If you have questions about staff awards, please contact Beth Wells, Assistant Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, at bwells@umbc.edu or 410-455-8907.
