Maryland charities are counting on us: Donate now
2017 Maryland Charity Campaign
As we prepare for the holidays, we can think of no better embodiment of the spirit of the season than UMBC's remarkable participation in the Maryland Charity Campaign. We are delighted to announce we are approaching our goal of 1,000 participants: to date, we have received nearly 700 individual donations totaling more than $192,000. Great work!
There's still time to give. The deadline for this year's campaign is Friday, December 15. If you have not yet had a chance to do so, we encourage you to help support the many nonprofit organizations that serve our surrounding community, and consider a gift of any amount. If you need assistance donating, see our online help guide or contact your unit's MCC Coordinator.
Last chance to win an Amazon Echo
We've extended the giveaway deadline, but time is running out for your chance to win an Amazon Echo, a hands-free speaker you control with your voice. Be sure to make your gift or pledge before the end of the day, Monday, December 11, to be eligible. Everyone who has contributed to the fall campaign is automatically entered into the drawing.
Congratulations to our Fitbit Charge 2 winner
Congratulations to Olivia Dent of the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, the winner of the Fitbit Charge 2 drawing!
Southwest Tickets grand prize giveaway
President Freeman Hrabowski has also generously offered to give away two sets of Southwest ticket vouchers to anywhere in the continental United States. Donate online between now and the end of the day, Wednesday, December 13 and be automatically entered into the drawing. As always, anyone who has already contributed to the fall campaign is eligible to win. Winners will be announced at next week's Holiday Open House event.
On behalf of the Maryland Charity Campaign, and those who benefit from your generosity, we thank you.
