PeopleSoft Financials Upgrade Updates

Go-live for the PeopleSoft Financials Upgrade is scheduled during Spring Break, March 16 – 21. The many new and exciting features include workflow for journal entries, Work Centers for easier navigation, and powerful reporting tools.

If you are a PeopleSoft Finance user please read this message carefully so that you are aware of all of the training opportunities, new security form requirements, and important dates and deadlines.

Financial Services has compiled a calendar of critical dates leading up to the launch of PeopleSoft 9.2 on Wednesday March 21, 2018.

PeopleSoft 9.2 will require new security access forms to be submitted. Financial Services has reserved dates for workshops to help guide users with the forms. Please go to the myUMBC Training page and register for “PeopleSoft Finance 9.2 Security Workshop.”

Financial Services is finalizing the dates and locations for multiple brown bag learning sessions for new PeopleSoft functionality and training, scheduled to begin in early March.

Concurrent with the PeopleSoft Finance upgrade, Retriever reporting will be retired. Campus users can now access the new REX Finance reports, which now include all funds:
  • Revolving and Self Support (1113)
  • Cost share funds (1114, and 1115)
  • Restricted (grant) funds (1253,1263)
Additional reports for grants (Funds 1253 and 1263) are currently in test phase and will be available to all users no later than the end of February 2018. These reports offer users the direct drill to payroll details for employee information by department.

Additionally, there is a new folder layout and report naming convention to simplify navigation. The new REX Finance reports can be found here. (Username and password required to access REX Finance. To obtain access, create an RT ticket. Access will be available to all campus faculty and staff after March 12, 2018.)

Please visit TAP for our REX Finance Report tutorials to view a short two minute video tutorial.

If you have additional questions regarding the upgrade or reporting please email Julia Golbey, golbeyj1@umbc.edu.
