Campus Status: The University is open, with employees working remotely. Facilities will remain closed. Maryland is currently under a Stay at Home Order.

Student Services and Support
- UMBC continues to partner with The Haven at College to offer students confidential virtual programs and evidence-based care for treating substance use and mental health issues (such as depression and anxiety). Call 855-880-1340 for information.
- The Office of Equity and Inclusion is hosting an online Campus Conversation on Wednesday May 13 at 3pm to discuss the newly issued Title IX regulations.
- The Career Center is offering a variety of virtual recruiting events and information sessions this week.
- Student Events Board (seb) offers tips for finals week.
- Virtually rub True Grit’s nose for good luck!
Academic Continuity
- The Undergraduate Research Awards (URA) deadline has been extended to May 15, 2020. The selection committee has made a number of changes to support research during this time.
Business Continuity and Staff Support
- UMBC’s EAP Program is hosting a webinar: Self-Isolating Together During the Pandemic. You can view the full webinar series in the myUMBC training group.
- The UMBC Wellness Initiative has put together resources and events to support faculty and staff during challenging times. Join us for Meditation in Nature on 5/15 and Wellness Wednesday: Eating for One on 5/20. Explore the myUMBC Wellness Initiative group for recipes, fitness challenges, events and other wellness-inspired posts and content!
- Comprehensive FAQ's related to the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) are now posted on the HR Website.
Facilities
- Only employees with a letter from their supervisor or students that are approved for late stay should be on campus. If you have an emergency need to visit campus, call UMBC Police Deputy Chief Bruce Perry at 443-677-2195 or Lieutenant Derrick Johns at 410-207-0850.
