The Many Faces of Structural Racism: A Campus Conversation

Thank you to the 600 members of our community who attendedThe Many Faces of Structural Racism: A Campus Conversation yesterday. We deeply appreciate the time and expertise of our panel members and the thoughtful feedback from our community as we all work to move from thought to action. You can view a recording of the event and slides on the Office of Equity and Inclusion’s (OEI) website. We are working on answering all of the questions that were submitted and we will also post the answers on the OEI website.

As I mentioned yesterday, we are in the process of officially forming our Inclusion Council that will serve as the lead on efforts to address concerns regarding structural racism and other equity and identity issues on our campus. The Council will be housed in the President’s Office and will also serve in an advisory capacity to the Office of Equity and Inclusion. Members will include faculty, staff, and students. We will announce more about the Council in the following weeks.

Thank you for all that you do to support inclusive excellence in our community. We know that we have much work to do.

Candace Dodson-Reed '96, Chief of Staff and Executive Director, Office of Equity and Inclusion
